The Capital Box Cup: Championing Grassroots Boxing in London
28 Aug 2025

The Capital Box Cup is one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments in the UK boxing calendar.

Organised by England Boxing, it was officially recognised as one of the largest amateur competitions in the country, with more boxers taking part than any other tournament.

The May 2025 event was even bigger and better than before, with Bilat Shaista playing a key role in its continued growth through strategic support and an exclusive sponsorship deal. Learn what went down and how it shapes the future of boxing below.

A PLATFORM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

The Capital Box Cup was a true showcase of boxing talent, open to competitors aged 15 to 40. It provided a vital platform for junior, youth, senior, and elite boxer development, with many boxers using tournaments like this as a stepping stone to the international stage. In fact, some of tomorrow’s Team GB athletes could very well emerge from this event.

In 2025 the tournament took place at the Broadwater Farm Community Centre in Tottenham, a larger venue that reflected the scale and ambition of the competition. Spread across three days, the Cup featured three rings running simultaneously, allowing quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals to unfold in an exciting and well-structured format.

Fans enjoyed three days of top-class boxing from 24–26 May, supporting grassroots talent. Doors opened at 12 pm on Saturday, and 11 am on both Sunday and Monday.

BOXING EVENTS WITH INTEGRITY

The Capital Box Cup boasted 50 London and England boxing officials in attendance. Coaches also played a pivotal role, not only guiding their fighters in the corner but also supporting them mentally and strategically throughout each round.

Similarly, officials volunteered their time passionately, helping create opportunities for the next generation of boxers.

The Capital Box Cup celebrated the wider boxing community, with each athlete showcasing their skills and representing their club with pride.

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF GRASSROOTS BOXING

Alongside the competition itself, a behind-the-scenes documentary was put into production to capture the energy, dedication, and stories of the boxers taking part.

This film highlights not only the skill and determination within the ring, but also the communities uplifted by grassroots boxing and the efforts of the professionals behind the event, such as Bilat, and sponsors like Bil Sha Consulting and Bil Sha’s involvement went beyond sponsorship.

His expertise was integral in assisting with financial planning, event management, and long-term strategic development of the tournament. Through supporting the Capital Box Cup, he helped build a platform that inspired and created real opportunities for the next generation of boxing champions.
